Michèle

Hi everybody!

My name is Michèle. Where I’m from is always a difficult question to answer. I’m Swiss-American and was born and raised in the Black Forest in southern Germany. By definition, I’m a third culture kid (TCK): a person who has spent a significant part of his or her developmental years outside their parents’ culture. And I love it.

After graduating high school I decided it was time to get to know my American side and moved to the heart of Manhattan to attend The King’s College. I graduated with a degree in Media, Culture, and the Arts, and a minor in Theology in December 2015.

After a short two weeks to recover from a life of school, I moved to Switzerland to start working as a Flight Attendant. Life in Switzerland has been wonderful so far. I’ve loved getting to know my third culture–though people keep reminding me of the slight accent I have when speaking Swiss German.

I grew up in a Christian home and first accepted Christ when I was five years old. My dad was sick and dying of a brain tumor and would read the bible to me for as long as he still could. One night as we were reading about Jesus dying on the cross for me, I couldn’t get a song out of my head. The lyrics were something along the lines of “here I am knocking on the door of your heart, will you open?” That night, I opened my door.

My faith means the world to me and I can only hope to show you the things I have learned over the years. I am by no means perfect, and this journey isn’t easy. But it’s worth it.
