The Difference

Facebook has changed over the years. It first was unknown and a danger for everyone but some brave kids started using it and the rest followed the example. Having the first experience with the “social media”, we, the normal human beings started to see the opportunities and advantages of it. Same for the industry. Advertisements all over the news feed and recently searched items appearing on the side bar were just a few of the added improvements. Besides the look which has changed we also use it for different motivations. As instagram started to climb it’s way up the known social media latter, we prioritized facebook as a less important tool for personal images and content. For what we (at least my generation) use it now is information and entertainment. There is no need to consult youtube, our facebook feed is filled with good stuff and you could be on it for ever. Having friends or pages from all over the world, this social media friend never sleeps.

I must admit that I can stay on facebook for quite a while and it is a decision to close the app. What I mostly love to watch are inspirational videos. No matter about what the content is in specific, I love to be inspired by love driven people, helping people and innovative people. They make me feel better as they are doing something for humanity. BUT here comes the point. As easy as I could watch the content the same pace I will forget about it. I had my high feeling about good people and my good live goes on. It is nice that they have an impact on those who need it most but as my life isn’t affected by the same worries it bothers me little.

Our age and century is kind of scary. We love technology and improvement. Everyone talks about the digital process in every aspect of live. We want everything to be faster, have everything faster and we ourselves must deliver our work as well, faster. No matter of the fact that behind everything is a price to pay. We do not pay attention to the cost. Just going with the flow, we also realize that this fast pace and technology change, cuts off opportunities for us humans to work. It is all presented by the advantage of making our live easier – but how can I afford to loose my job because of technology when I won’t be able to pay my bills after loosing my job? Technology and knowledge might make our lives easier at time but we might have forgotten to think about our future.

I have recently seen a very inspirational video about living without producing trash. It seems to be an unreachable goal. I asked myself why do we who consume must change our attitude. Why do we have to force ourselves to do something good. Why does the industry produce for example plastic bottles and not promote reusable water bottles. Why do we have to think and feel like that there is a system which leads us to a wasteful way to live. Is money that important? Is there no sense of humanity and thought for our future? Is it just about them and their system?

Rather than putting shame on them, I want to be the difference. I want to be inspired by those who put good ideas into action and follow their example. Not only embracing the moment of the good feeling of those five minutes but enlarging it by starting to change my attitude.

This planet was created in love by God who first loved us. Why do we take everything for granted and do not pay any attention on how we could love him and his creation back.

I want you to be challenged and inspired to do something as big as your possibilities are. It starts with a small step. If we all move, something big will get in motion.
