I am convinced that we miss out on God’s blessing. Not that God would hold it back but we don’t collect our reward. We don’t see where we can get it and look at wrong places. 

God knows me best. He is the creator – He is God. Who am I to always think that I would know best what I need? Don’t get me wrong. I totally believe that we are called to be mature Christians and that we should know what we want, what our dreams and desires are. There are some needs only God knows that we need them. The need of rules, the need of guidelines and the need of Him telling me where to stop.

In my opinion there are two different sides of maturity. They are connected in one word – decision.

I believe that we so many times decide against a blessing of God. Just by putting our opinion above God’s word. It should be the other way around. Our opinion should be less important then the word of God. That is where the blessing comes into your life. There is a reason why God tells us to dwell in His word, to spend time in His presence and to keep the Sabbath. In our opinion we have already spent enough time in His word and who needs a Sabbath?

I want to challenge you to ask yourself and pray about the following questions:

• Where in your life do you put your opinion above God’s wisdom?
• In which part of your life do you think are you missing out on God’s blessing because of this?
• What can you change?

God has so much in store for us – go and get it!
