It is the look in His eyes. The way He speaks. Every time I spend time with Him I know it was worth putting him on top of my priority list.
If you think that I am talking about a guy right now – no, I am not.

I am talking about the groom who is ready to meet his bride day by day. Date after date. 

The date I am talking about is my quiet time, which I have renamed to an every-day “Jesus date”.

I couldn’t really handle the word quiet time when this time of the day is supposed to be a time just for Jesus and me. I want this time to be a time where I can talk to him and he talks back. Of course I pray during the day and communicate with God. The quiet time I want to have is a time where I put everything aside and concentrate only on God. Like having a date. So I have my daily dates. Not always at the same time – He is pretty flexible. You find the appointments with him in my calendar.

Why I started to call this time a date?! I was overwhelmed with the idea of having quiet time with Jesus. Most of the time I feel like he actually is quiet. just another time of quietness. I think many people struggle with how to fill their quiet time. That’s what I think many of us struggle with. We don’t know how to spend this time with God. The quietness might stress us out because life around us is pretty loud. Thoughts in our head, our smartphone or just our responsibilities. Focusing on only one “thing” or person can be really hard. Even during a real appointment with someone. We feel like we have to check our phone every other minute. Well, sometimes I do – don’t know about you.

My Jesus dates variate on length, content or place. That’s what makes them more interesting and fun. Sometimes I forget that I had an appointment. I can tell you that Jesus is the best date you can have. 😉 Don’t forget him for too long You will miss him and the time with him.

God said that Jesus is the Bridegroom and the church is his Wife. As the church is built by its people, we are his Bride. I want to be a bride who gets to know her Groom better day by day.
