“Home is where the heart is.”
I actually don’t know how to start this blog post. But it was on my heart to share about how I was on a journey to finally finding my home. It all began when I came home over a year ago after having spent eight months abroad.
The statement above perfectly explains how I could not feel at home even though I was “home.” My inner self wasn’t at peace and and I wasn’t satisfied with the situation. I was always wondering whether or not I should go back to Australia the place I spent eight months. I never really arrived even though I thought I did.
Here’s a short summary to help you find your home and full satisfaction with your present situation:
The People
Surround yourself with people who see your potential, appreciate you and your gifts and who support and encourage you. A healthy environment makes you grow and blossom.
- Friends
- Family
- Leaders
At home, church and maybe at work.
The Place
Be a part in different places. At one place look for the mentioned things from above. At the other place live those things. Be the person who sees potential, appreciates others and gifts and who supports and encourages them.
The Home
Home is where your heart is and your heart is where you are. You always take yourself with you. You can’t leave yourself behind. You can exchange the location, continent or friends but not yourself. I have learned to be content with who I am and what I do. That is when my heart can feel at home. It also has to do with what I wrote last week. To embrace every season in life.
The Spirit
Wherever you are – or wherever ever you want to be – spend time with your father in heaven. Look after your spirit. Don’t only look where your body physically is. Never forget to check where you are at spiritually.
I am conviced that it is a decision to fully arrive. Home is where your heart is and you need 100% of it.
