One step of obedience. Two steps for the Kingdom of God.

If you have ever asked yourself whether or not God wants to use you – read this.

I always believed that God knows me better than I know myself and that’s why He can use me. God knows what I’m good at and what not. That’s how I believed God’s work with us humans would be. It’s almost like when I was a kid and played with my babydoll. I knew her better then she knew herself (of course it was a toy..) but to give you the picture: It was my story I wanted her to play a part in. And that’s how I thought it is with God. He knows me best and he has a story and a plan for my life. And it’s true God has a plan, knows you well and has a fun story ready. But He is not such a selfish storyteller like I was when I was a kid. God wants us to live freely with our own will. If  we want to be a part of the story He wants to tell, we need to cooperate with God. God also needs us to cooperate with him. He won’t force us to do his will and live out his story.

This all is based on a revelation I have had a few weeks ago.

When I talk to friends and give advice, I feel how my words are inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Some time ago I was talking to a good friend. When she was talking I could easily follow the conversation and ask the right questions. Then for a short moment I was distracted by my own thoughts. I had forgotten what she was talking about. Not able to give her any advice I asked God what to tell her. God didn’t answer my prayer and I just looked at her. She didn’t recognize my struggles. After a while and me able to follow her words again, I heard God telling me: “Luisa, I need you to do your part. I don’t just want to do it all by myself. I mean, I could but that’s not my intention. You are needed with everything you’ve got. Your friendship to her, your understanding for her situation and your relationship to me. I want to use you and your abilities if you let me.”

How you can try to be the best creation

This is pretty simple. Think of bees. They are created to “create” honey. Okay, sometimes they bite you. But basically everything they do is “creating” honey. You are created as a son or a daughter of God and to be a son or a daughter of God. Not only being used as a son or a daughter – like the bees are. That’s why God gave you your will. The easiest way of trying to be the best creation is to start to understand:

• Who you are created to be
• What you are created for
• Who created you
• What do you want to create?

I don’t know if she prayed for someone to help her in her situation. I know that I want to be there when God wants to answer prayers.

My step of obedience can be a step of faith for someone else. My step of obedience can be a step of trust for someone else. My step of obedience can be a step of obedience for someone else. My step of obedience can be a step of belief for someone else.

God created you to create for and with him not only to be used as his creation.
