God is always sending signals, the question is if we are in a receiving mode. Not that God would spam your letterbox, no he sends you a daily reminder of his love, greatness and grace. We just need to switch from our “worldly mode” to our “receiving God” mode. How that works? It’s pretty simple. Open your eyes for what God has created. The friends you are surrounded by. Your family. Listen to the beautiful sound of birds. The laughter of kids. Trees kissed by the wind. The smell of your favorite perfume. The taste of fresh water. Feel the warm ground under your feet. It’s always a matter of perspective and a decision to walk over the “bridge of awareness”.
Every morning and every night I need to decide whether I’m going to focus on God’s creation or not. It’s a revelation I just had recently. When I went to bed I was anxious about the night and wouldn’t thank God for all those things. In the mornings I was grumbling, not appreciating all the good things God would have ready for me. And even more importantly I wasn’t ready for the things God had prepared that would help someone else.
I’ve realized that I need to walk over the bridge of connection and awareness every morning. Don’t get me wrong. I’m always connected to God and would never want to disconnect. But I think there is a decision we can make everyday. And there is a battle going on. Whether you should go over the bridge that would lead you to for example talk to people about your faith or not. A bridge which brings you further and pushes you out of your comfort zone. We can totally live our lives without crossing the bridge but I’ve discovered an adventure. An adventure which makes my faith grow, discover the beauty of testimony, and true love for people.
“God’s” bridge of opportunity is always there. He will never pull it up and say: “Sorry, now you’re too late.” But I think there is a reason He offered you this bridge you to take. And I myself don’t want to miss the story which can come out of my decision of walking over this bridge.
